Ukrainian Citizens Attempt to Break the Blockade of Donbass

Donbass republics stated, that they envisage the embargo as the admittance of their independence. Consequences of the embargo are also being evaluated in Ukraine. Ukrainian PM Vladimir Groysman announced that the blockade of main transport corridors by radicals will slow down economic development. It is, however, unclear, where Groysman sees the difference between Donbass' blockade by nationalists and the same blockade authorized by the government. Regular Ukrainians don't see the difference either. But they do see the problems it already creates. Olga Solovyova, reporting from Kiev. The transport blockade is in action. Ukrainian border-control confiscated 300 kg of sausage. One of the locals was transporting it in the salon and the trunk of his vehicle. Sausages, bockwurst, bockwurst with cheese. There is a serious battle for the control over the transport flow. Radicals attack military checkpoints in the attempt to reserve this right. They were taken down after Poroshenko supported the blockade controlled by nationalists. In modern Ukraine, a lot of people confuse democracy with Makhnovia. We will lose our nationalism, if everybody doesn't realize, that the right to use of force belongs only to the government. Radicals clearly disagree. Conflicts at checkpoints continue, weapons get involved. These clashes between law enforcement and militants occur almost daily. While local authorities and radicals fight over the checkpoints, Ukrainian locals attempt to unblock highways and railroads. Populated areas close to the delineation points suffer from food and charcoal shortage. They have nothing to heat their houses with. We don't know where we'll get the charcoal from. What they bring us now is dust clumped with water. In his fight over power Poroshenko's motto has been "I govern over what I can't control". The embargo and the sanctions against banks only intensified people's frustration. But radicals didn't become more compliant. Poroshenko's policy of full connivance with radicals is merely temporary tactics, not a long-term strategy. A manifesto was signed by 3 largest nationalistic political parties in Ukraine — Freedom, Right Sector (banned in Russia) and National Corps. One of the main requirements is the impeachment of the president. Radicals have announced their serious intentions of a crusade against the authorities.
