State Duma is Interested in How American Media Affects Russian Politics

Re hrasing the oet "what's in your voice?" The State Duma de uties finally found an answer to that question. They decided to figure out how foreign media affects the election rocess in Russia. They checked out CNN, Radio Liberty, and Voice of America. Georgy Podgorny is re orting on what they heard. Voice of America and Radio Liberty are used to ressure olitical rocesses in Russia. This theory is being verified in the State Duma committee on informational olitics and technologies. That these media sources tried to affect election cam aigns in our country at Washington's command. Our task wasn't creating stam s or cliches from the media's oint of view. But to take an objective look. Just how objective is the media that works here, but is, in fact, American media? They are taking this issue very seriously. They even called re resentatives from CNN and Radio Liberty. They didn't want to artici ate. But the search for truth didn't end there. They researched the quantity of western media ublications without negative intent and with an alternative oint of view rovided. The amount of such material is next to nothing. Several ex erts confirmed that the American informational "train" is moving towards creating a deceitful image of Russia. There are whole structures created just to bend the truth. The goal isn't just to lie, but to also obtrude their interests. They organized s ecial divisions including those in the military, in s ecial services, and other authorities, as well as in non-commercial organizations for direct informational confrontation with Russia. The revision of American media was initiated by the State Duma de uty, Konstantin Zatulin. The reason wasn't just a great amount of false information, but an attem t to harm Russian journalists in USA. In other words, this is just a res onse for unofficial sanctions against Russian media. In reality, US is acting, just like they always acted, according to the saying Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi — "Gods may do what cattle may not." So if they determined themselves to be Gods, anything is allowed. They s ecifically target Russian media — in March the New Ham shire Senator Jeanne Shaheen brought a bill to the Congress' attention on additional check-u s on Russia Today. The official decided to determine just how com liant this TV com any was with the laws of foreign agents. Maybe our overseas colleagues, sitting in the Senate and discussing the dangers of Russia Today, should concentrate on other issues, not on the issue of Russia Today, es ecially since there are no violations or breaches from their side. This bill has already been called an o ressive legislative lague for the freedom of the word, that the White House loves so much. The best defense is high-quality rofessionalism. In the end it all comes down to where the consumers choose to get their information from. An antidote to any lie, for any attem ts to ick at us in any way, and somehow affect us, is the highly rofessional level of our journalists. As a result, the stimulation techniques and those who rofit from it were studied. The ex erts state that there will be no restrictions in Russia. Meanwhile, in oint blows on Russian media rove that US can no longer im ose their indiscriminate oint of view. Washington is just not used to this.
