Ukraine Goes to NATO: Kiev Sends Shells as Signals to Donbass

The situation in Donbass is worsening again. One person was killed and one was wounded in one day, as a result of the shelling of the Donetsk People's Republic by the Ukrainian security forces. Lugansk and its surroundings have been under attack for several days. At the same time, the security forces are trying to break through one of the sections of the demarcation line. At the same time, the Verkhovnaya Rada declared Ukraine's entry into NATO to be a priority of the Ukraine's foreign policy as if Kiev had no territorial conflicts at all. During the shelling, several families hide here at once. Another shelter is in the basement of a five-story building. When Ukrainian artillery attacked the village the day before early in the morning, people tried to close every hole so that the fragments didn’t fly in. Yesterday, the fire was inhumane. The ones who were shooting are beasts. Just like beasts, just knocking people down. Not a single whole window, the roof is broken. There are pieces of concrete on the benches, where the elderly usually sit. Private houses are literally pierced through. That’s how strong the shelling was. It's good that my son didn’t spend the night here. The sofa is shot through. If he had slept here on the pillow, he would have lost his head. This was my favorite blouse. People, especially families with children, had to be evacuated immediately, right under fire. — Bye, daddy! — Bye, son! About twenty people were temporarily placed in the children's hospital in Kirovsk. Mothers with infants are also here. Running away from the fire, they managed to take only the most necessary things. We usually hide in the bathroom or run to the basement. Both crawling and creeping, just to get there. Several settlements of the LPR came under fire at once. Heavy artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Kirovsk, the villages of Donetsky and Frunze, and shells fell on the outskirts of Stakhanov town. Under cover of the artillery, the Ukrainian army made a breakthrough near the village of Zhelobok. There are literally just hundreds of meters between the outskirts of the village and the positions of the Ukrainian military. The gray zone begins just beyond the nearest wood line, and farther away, there is the village of Zhelobok, which the Ukrainian military tried to attack several times on the eve. But the military of the Ukrainian Armed Forces couldn’t move forward. If they had taken this village and that height, the radius of fire and the number of the cities under fire would be much larger. Today, the Ukrainian security forces have also attacked the neighboring DPR. One of the most important infrastructure facilities, the pumping station of the Yuzhnodonbass water pipeline was the target. Last night, more than 20 shells fell here. This station provides water to more than a million people, most of them living in the cities controlled by Kiev such as Mariupol, Volnovakha, and Krasnoarmeysk. The whole southern Donetsk region is without water now.
