The weather was perfect for the staff to complete this process and with help from the membership, cart restrictions enabled excellent germination of turf-type tall fescue in many areas across the golf course. The mild fall and winter months enabled the staff to complete some important projects with the help of outside contractors. What better way is there to help out a great cause and charities while having fun doing it? All of the staff today, along with the enlisted help from a group from a temporary agency will aid in the clean-up. Spring is here, and arrived early as our first mowing of the putting surfaces was February 28th. The warmer temperatures allowed the grounds staff to complete spring aerification soon after on March 16th, which is the approximate date of our first mowing in a «normal» year. With the cooler temperatures in late May the Zoysia grass has seen limited growth, the staff continues to work on sodding some edges of fairways where Annual Bluegrass has crept in and removed, this has also given us an opportunity to do some minor contouring of areas to improve aesthetics. One of the staff members at TPC Scottsdale is a familiar one to the members at HPGCC and myself, Ben Evans.

Medinah offers three world-renowned golf courses and the highest quality facilities and family-oriented amenities to both its members and honored guests. The infrastructure consists of hotels, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and many much more facilities that individuals require. However, don’t let either of these events take up too much time. We can always add water, but it is very difficult to take it away, unless there is adequate drainage. Water, is also an excellent conductor of energy, when soil temperatures rise, the root systems begin to slough off and the plant becomes ineffiecnt at uptaking the necessary water and nutrients to survive. Patience is needed until the warm temperatures arrive! Whilst my time at Scioto was only a week, I became part of their team and together we put out an amazing course for the world to see. The ability to allow our 100 year old native greens to drain properly and dry out allows for the golf course to be open more often following heavy rains, without negatively impacting the putting surfaces.

This course can be pricey, so if you’re looking to stay on a budget you might want to plan to play this course during the customize your own pinnacle golf balls off season. Each year, team members of the HP grounds department volunteer at various tournaments, helping the host site to prepare the course for tournament play. Our team also appreciates how the members at Hyde Park have invested into this program, many of you have had the opportunity to welcome them. Traditionally the realm of the low irons, the rescues are nowhere near as hard to use as the irons of old.

There are six restaurants on-site as well like the Thalassa that offers Mediterranean cuisine. Alongside playing the game of golf, you can enjoy the sight-scenes in there as well. Given the high standards for a PGA Tour event, it shows how seriously we take our jobs of providing our membership the best playing conditions possible. A 4 ball best ball stableford was played, followed by a Christmas lunch during which the prizes for the day were presented. 2 The first official Seniors day is 25th March, we have opted to change this to a non-counting competition, and there will be an option for sweep and 2’s available. The ladies 9-hole group will play on the back 9 at 9:00 am. Best of all, was shadowing assistant Heath Booker part of one evening as he led the Front 9 group and worked with the data collection team as they measured green speeds, firmness and moisture content.
